Antwerpt, Belgium: Catholics are breaking with Bishop Johan Bonny who promotes "homo-unions"

From Polonia Christiana:

The faithful are experiencing dramatic moments in the Diocese of Antwerp in Belgium. Bishop Johan Bonny, last Saturday,  publicly spoke out against the teaching of the Church.

In an interview with the newspaper "De Morgen" he said that  there was a need to seek formal recognition in the Catholic Church of homosexual unions, because - as he stated - Christian ethics protects stable and faithful relationships. Bishop Bonny concealed that, in accordance with the teachings of the Church and Scripture, such relationships by their very nature are immoral, which is clearly stated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith statement of 2003. The latter requires Catholics to oppose the legalization of same-sex unions.

We were reminded on the concealed truth in his interview in a public statement  by the Catholic Students Association of Antwerp. They have dissociated themselves from the views of the bishop, noting that he crossed the line of Catholic teaching and morals.

According to the students he has harmed the Church's opinion. The impression he gives is that there is no place for gays. However, the Catholic Students Association of Antwerp recalled that the Catholic Church is open to everyone irrespective of one's sexual orientation.

I don't believe the RC Church will ever condone sodomy.

Brave Catholic students. There's no doubt we have to stand up to heretic bishops and cardinals. The lay people actually canonized the Miraculous Medal. It wasn't the hierarchy. And I've always said that if a little lay person speaks with the truth of the authentic teaching of the Catholic Church handed down to us from the apostles through the laity, religious and bishops of the last 2000 years, he is infallible. But if a cardinal steps outside the authentic Magisterium of the Catholic Church speaking an opinion that is contrary to the Deposit of Faith, he is a fool. God bless you.
