Apostasy and Heresy: Canadian bishops call on Catholics to "celebrate" Luther

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is officially "celebrating" Martin Luther and his so-called "Reformation". There was no celebration or mention of "Reformation Sunday" (truth to tell Deformation Sunday) where I went to Mass today. Indeed, why as the priest told me would anyone celebrate a divorce?

Apparently, the Canadian Bishops feel there is reason to celebrate. Noted scholar on Lutheranism, Fr. Thaddeus Guz, Professor of Philosophy at the Catholic University of Lublin has stated bluntly and truthfully that any celebration of the "Reformation" by a Catholic is an act of the "highest apostasy". Rightly does Fr. Guz denounce those as those celebrating as "either is, or is their way into heresy, there is no alternative." Fr Guz stated that those who celebrate are "a traitor to the Gospels, and the very God and the Church".

Friends. How can the Bishops of Canada celebrate a man whom the Church has always regarded as a precusor to the Antichrist? Just which Luther are these bishops celebrating? Luther the Apostate? Luther the Heretic? Luther the Mass Hater? Luther the Destroyer of Christendom?

Or, could it be: Luther the Father of Nationalism? Luther the Father of Liberalism? Luther the Father of Communism? Luther the Father of Nazism?

Perhaps they are celebrating Luther the Misogynist? Luther the Vulgarian? Luther the Drunkard? Luther the Jew Hater?

Friends, just what is there about Martin Luther to celebrate? When you find something, let me know.

Two popes must ask Franciscans, Domincians, Jesuits, Benedictines, Carmelites and other religious organisations and lay movements to affirm Vatican Council II (premise-free) and then do it themselves

Sorry to say, but Canadian church HAS NO SPINE... I am Catholic living in Canada/Toronto for around 30 years and I am so disappointed with this lax and weak (morally) church, church full of compromising silence, church of nice, church of moral emptiness where you will not hear any deep and serious homily spoken from the heart (all is boring and read from the paper)... and because of all of the above (and much more) young people are leaving Catholic Church in thousands... How this church will look in 50 years?

WHO IS GOING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SOULS OF THESE YOUTH, who are TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS SPINELESS CHURCH...?

WHAT THESE PRIESTS ARE GOING TO SAY TO JESUS ON THE LAST DAY? SHAME!!!

Anonymous - I am one of those youth, and I was so disappointed with the Canadian Church (Novus Ordo) that I left it. I only go back if I must, either for my family or to fulfill my Sunday obligation if I am not able to make the TLM. That's not to say the youth are leaving in the thousands - many are staying in the Canadian Church and look at me with a sort of suspicion. My utter denouncement of the shenanigans my diocese undertakes sometimes marks me out, and I am a sort of laughing stock by the youth who see the Canadian Church as having a spine still.

Who's going to take responsibility? Simple. The youth will have to do it. We must teach ourselves what we have lost.
